At the October AGM of the Northamptonshire County Association of Local Councils (Northants CALC), Gwen Radcliffe received a commendation for her 30 years of service. Over 60 voting delegates were unanimous in proposing her election as Vice President.
The Oundle Town Council said she has ‘demonstrated amazing dedication, commitment and energy to the local community’.
After nearly thirty years of service to the Northants CALC, Mrs Radcliffe took the decision to retire from the board at the AGM.
Mrs Radcliffe was chairman of the Association from 1993 to 1996, during a time when parish councils were organising 100 year anniversary celebrations in 1994.
Between 2006 and 2011 she served as the Association’s representative to the National Council of the National Association of Local Council. During this time she also played an important role as
chairman of the NALC Finance Committee.
One of the four founding directors of Northants CALC Ltd in 2010, Mrs Radcliffe was a vital part of the modernisation and development programme for the company.
Northants CALC is a non-profit membership organisation, which is vital in representing, training and advising the parish and town councils of Northamptonshire.
Mrs Radcliffe joined Oundle Town Council in 1979. Currently serving as Mayor, she will retire from the council in May 2015.
