Fletton House, which re-opened in September 2015 after undergoing major refurbishments and extensions, is the new community centre for Oundle and surrounding villages, and provides a range of services including a café as well as council offices, and now a hub for the police and fire services of Oundle.
Due to the closure of the police station’s front desk in April, it is hoped that the hub will provide an alternative way for the police and the community to interact.
The new hub was officially opened by Assistant Chief Constable Rachel Swann and the former High Sherriff of Northamptonshire, Anne Burnett.
ACC Swan said: ‘This new facility gives the people of Oundle wonderful access to the police and fire services in a building which is also home to a number of other facilities and agencies.’
It is hoped that as a result of its prime location opposite the current Police Station at Fletton House, the hub will ‘bring officers right into the heart of the community’.
