Behind the Scenes at Gilbert and Sullivan Show

Oundle Gilbert and Sullivan Players was formed in 1958 and have been entertaining audiences every year since. The company produces two shows a year; a full-scale production in early spring and a summer concert of hit tunes, which this year will be on 24 and 25 June at the Stahl Theatre. The G & S shows always have high production values, but there are hours of rehearsals along with backstage and front of house preparations that go into making sure everything is pitch-perfect and ship-shape. For this year’s production of HMS Pinafore, we went along before the curtain went up. Photos by Pavel Lipskiy Captions by Clemmie Preston
